POLICE SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES - Bill Roser, Chair - broser@mcp3a.org
The role of the Police Specific Committee is to recruit MCP3A grads to assist the Medina Police Department when the officers are on duty, and we can assist the officers within the limits of what our training allows. There are definite limits on what we can and can't do in each situation.
Every year there are regularly scheduled events like the Memorial Day Parade, July 4 activities, Labor Day Parade, Homecoming Parade, Trick or Treat, shoplift prevention during the holiday season, etc. We are there to assist the police in these kinds of city-wide-events. Our specific role can and will vary in each situation.
We can also perform duties such as "answering the window" when the public comes to the window in the main lobby of the police station. If you are interested in volunteering a few hours, please contact Bill Roser at broser@mcp3a.org
There are also times when unique situations occur, where we can also be of assistance.
Some examples:
When we are on duty for any reason, we receive specific instruction from the Medina Police Department, prior to any duty we perform.

Some examples:
- We were once asked to help administer a Civil Service Exam for Medina Police Officer job openings;
- On two occasions, we were asked to help with an evidence search in wooded areas;
- Several summers ago, we were asked to role-play for training of Federal Air Marshals;
- On occasion, we have role played bad guys for police training purposes.
